Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident: Up to 5,000 lbs of Load-Leveling Support

When your truck squats under a heavy load, braking, steering, and headlight aim can all suffer. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of rear support to keep your vehicle level and stable. By sharing the weight across all four wheels, they reduce strain on your factory suspension, improve control, and keep tires wearing evenly. Whether hauling gear or towing, you get a safer, more balanced ride that stays true even under serious weight.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable from 5 psi to 100 psi

Every load is different, and these springs let you tune for it. With air pressure adjustable between 5 psi and 100 psi, you can fine-tune firmness for the perfect balance of comfort and stability. Inflate each spring independently to correct side-to-side lean or keep things even front to back. Manual inflation valves and air lines are included for simple setup, and you can add an onboard compressor system later if you want in-cab or wireless control.

Built to Last Through Heavy Use: Reinforced Rubber and Zytel Endcaps

Heavy loads demand strong gear. Each LoadLifter 5000 spring is made from tough 2-ply fabric-reinforced rubber with high-strength Zytel nylon endcaps that are lighter, stronger, and more corrosion resistant than steel. Air Lift’s exclusive roll plates protect the bags from damage while increasing their load capacity. The result is a setup that stands up to years of towing, hauling, and rough roads without leaks or wear issues.

Simple Setup for Real-World Use: Complete Kit with Mounting Hardware

Everything needed for installation is in the box—mounting brackets, hardware, manual inflation valves, and air lines. The brackets are designed for a clean fit so you can bolt them up and get back to work faster. Once installed, just fill the bags through the valve stems (typically mounted on the bumper) until your truck sits level again. You get reliable support that’s easy to maintain and ready whenever the next big load shows up.

Air lift Load Lifter 5000 air helper airbags are working great. Hauling 2 snow sleds with no sagging. Tacoma is much safer to drive handling greatly improved. Thank you, e-tailer, for a great product super-fast shipping Merry Christmas.

by:

The airbags work great fit in perfectly you can do it yourself on the ground but recommend having a second person to help you

by:

Generic parts for a one size fits all application resulting in very poor fitment on a 2023 Tacoma. The upper bracket was clearly designed for another vehicle With cut out holes and spacers that do not correspond to the contour of the brackets they are fit to in this application. Part numbers confirm the factory spec. The brackets float forward and aft on the frame rail when fully tightened. With the minimum of 5PSI in the airbag and no load, the ride height was increased 4 inches over the rear axles. The spring rebound was significantly diminished and resulted in dangerously poor traction on gravel and unpaved surfaces. This airbag is too large for a Toyota Tacoma. The 60 day warranty will refund my purchase price, but I will still have to purchase new bump stops and reassemble them into my leaf springs as they are cut off for installation.

Sorry to hear it isn't living up to your expectations, Alan. Were you experiencing a lot of sag when you were unloaded before installing these? And do you have stock suspension? This is the first time I have heard of someone having so many issues with this kit on a Tacoma, so I must admit to being surprised by your review.

by:

Relatively easy install, good direction s.

by:

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kit arrived in a few days from when ordered. Installed on Saturday morning on my 21 Tacoma. The Instructions was easy to find follow and install went well. Waiting for camping season to see how they handle the Rockwood Mini Lite.

by:

Quick delivery time. Awaiting to be scheduled by mechanic for install.

by:

Easy installation works perfectly, great product!!

by:

I wish that I would have purchased these springs sooner. They do a great job of keeping the truck level when hauling a bed of mulch or towing my camper. Easy installation as well. Thanks

It arrived on time—thank you very much! !!!

by:

By adding Air Lift to our Tacoma, it stopped all the bouncing with our 19’ Airstream on rough roads. Very happy with our purchase.

by:

There an inch too short

by:

So far I can only speak about the installation of these bags. Basically the install process is super easy. It took me less than 2hrs. The instruction video they have on their website is priceless. You follow it and you can do it yourself. As for the bags themselves, they only have been there for a week. My 2018 Tacoma was squadding a lot with minimum load. These things solved that problem, just what I needed at a decent price.

by:

Fit perfect—easy instructions and insta ll

by:

Fairly easy to install. Took about 3 hours. I was able to do it without taking the tires off but you have to be prepared to do some crawling around. Worked well with my 18v Ryobi compresso.

by:

Most useful mod to my Tacoma ecar. Rides great at 5 to 10 psi. With the bed empty. Levelled out my truck nicely. Drives better. Loaded up. At 40 pounds. Still level.

by:

These bags completely changed the way my truck handled the weight of my trailer and they were easy to install. They are AMAZING! I am so happy I bought them, thank you.

by:

The air lift load lifter 5000 were easy to install, the video was very helpful. They lifted my 2020 Tacoma in the back just the way I wanted. I didn't need the 2" spacers and was able to return them very easily. etrailer is a fantastic place to buy the parts.

by:

I have a bone to pick with you guys regarding your installation video.
Specifically, the installation time you stated in the video; 2 hours.
2 hours might work if you are in your thirties, a trained mechanic and in a fully equipped shop (with a lift).
Once upon a time I was a pretty fair mechanic, but I am now 78 years old, do not have a lift and did the installation in my driveway.
The next morning I got out of bed with my body screaming at me "please don't ever do that again"! LOL
In your defense, the video was very clear and accurate. Other than the suggested install time!
Everything went together as planned and fit nicely into place and the bags actually seem to hold air!
Just put a time disclaimer in that video, please.
My wife told me I was too damned old to be crawling around under a pickup and once again I should have listened to her.

Yeah we might cheat a little with lifts and a generally young group of installers. I will see if I can get something added to the install time we list. : ) As to the last part of your review, I leave you with a quote from Commander Peter Quincy Taggart, "Never give up, never surrender!"

Everything fit perfect did not have to modify any brake lines just had to lift the wire harness up a little so it didn’t rub on the bracket couple zip ties. I was done. They worked great no leaks. Very happy.

Still working great haven’t put air in it once it’s holding air very well still working perfectly

by:

The bags came quick and installation was easy. I also installed an onboard air compressor system. The front rides 6” from the top of wheel well to top of tire. The back came up to 7” from top of wheel well to top of tire. It is a really stiff rough ride at 5psi. I have 600lb sitting on the back with a topper and gear and it’s still a rough enough ride that the back tires bounced off the ground while accelerating up a cloverleaf onramp. Doesn’t seem safe…. I might need to think about a different suspension. 2023 TRD PRO now with questionable roadability…. I’ll take a few trips a year with a trailer and gear and I’m sure the bags will work great for that but doesn’t seem great for daily driving at this point.

by:

The airbags did their job! I’ve got a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, and I’m really happy with the results so far. I only had to put in about 10 psi, and that was more than enough to handle the weight of the dump trailer. The install was a bit tedious and took around 3 hours total. The left side definitely took longer than the right.

Besides the time it took, I am glad you were able to get these installed and notice a difference right away! They look nice installed. Are you towing anything other than your dump trailer?

by:

Installed on 2019 Toyota Tacoma. I previously installed an add-a-leaf kit on the truck thinking it would 1. Lift the suspension to match the Bilstein 5100’s in the front and 2. Increase load / decrease sagging under load. While the add-a-leaf did raise the rear of the truck nicely, as I began to add tools (weight) it still sagged. The Load Lifter 5000 took care of this problem. Now I load the truck (or hook up a trailer) and simply add air pressure to the helper springs to bring the truck up level. I chose not to install the on-board air compressor. Instead I carry a portable, hand held compressor in the truck. I dial up the pressure I want and hit “go” and this seems to work well for me as I rarely need to change the pressure anyway. Nice to know when you empty out the truck you can reduce the pressure and go back to a softer ride. Also, I off-road some and was concerned about exceeding the travel of the helper springs and possibly causing damage so I also installed the kit that allows you to disconnect the helper springs from the rear axle and allow it to rest in a cradle. When full leaf extension occurs the helper springs raise out of the cradle and return there again when the leaf returns to normal position. This keeps any damage to the helper springs from occurring due to over extension.

After a year of use I can safely recommend this product!

Wow, I love this review because you really show how versatile these air helper springs can be! Towing, hauling, off-roading...what else is there? This is great!

by:

I didn’t do the install myself. However my mechanic talked me into these after adding a rack and rooftop tent to my ‘14 Tacoma. Absolutely Fantastic. I have a 3” suspension lift and the truck handles as near to stock as I can remember. Awesome product. Easy install (according to mechanic). Thanks all. Oh yes, one issue because I added a leaf spring when I lifted it. He had to find new shackles to allow for fit. FYI

Not quite Overland, definitely camping, hunting fishing. Its my “bugout” vehicle whenever need be. Moving back home to Central NY from MA soon and hoping to spend most spring/summer camping for sure. Love these springs! Seriously has not driven this well since stock. With the rack and rtt on top its an added (roughly) 500lbs and a bit top heavy. Not any more! Thanks all

Took my time and followed included instructions exactly. Went together well! Haven’t towed with them yet, but definitely raised the back of my Tacoma with 26 lbs of air pressure that I tested for leaks with! Feel like they’ll be a big improvement when towing our 4200 lbs. camper!

  • Do I Need Suspension Enhancement For My 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road?
Thanks for reaching out, Kyle. According to the online owner's manual, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road has a max towing capacity of 6,500 lbs. So based on this, yes, I think you can definitely tow a 2017 Passport Ultra Lite with a 4,400 lb dry weight. I do suggest that you consider a suspension upgrade though. Once the trailer is loaded you will likely be pushing it closer to its limit for towing. A suspension upgrade will help to keep the ride level and stable. An air bag kit like...

Not all lift kits are made equal, so in order to determine what (or if) you need spacers with the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL49DQ you'll need to either reach out to the company that made the lift kit for your 2017 Toyota Tacoma and see how much the distance from the frame to the axle was increased, or you can measure between the mounting points on your Tacoma yourself and see what the difference is. Hey Dylan, yes the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kit part # AL49DQ that you referenced is a fit for your 2013 Toyota Tacoma and will do a great job reducing the sag in the rear suspension of the truck. • Why do the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Cause a Stiff Ride When Unloaded?
Hello Brad, The reason your Tacoma rides rough after installing the LoadLifter 5000 airbags # AL49DQ is because the airbags add a lot of stiffness to your rear suspension, even at the minimum recommended 5 psi. Airbags are designed to support extra weight, but they also resist compression more than your original leaf springs. This means that even when you aren’t towing, the airbags are still making the suspension much stiffer than it was from the factory. At 5 psi, the airbags are firm...

Since you are going to want to get the Tacoma back to level height it is recommended to put the camper in and then air up. That way you will air up the airbags until your vehicle is back to level.
